So impressed with the hound. We had a reservation and were seated promptly when our entire party was here. Everyone from the host to the waiter was so friendly and made us feel comfortable. The pepper jelly app was delicious. I also had the houndcheros and it was delicious! We had the bread pudding for dessert and everything was 10 out of 10. Will for sure be back! Another nice thing is we had a birthday and they had a little card on our table when we got there. Loved it!

Food was great. Service was too. Waiting situation could be better - tons of people just standing around and the hostess never told anyone to move or sit down or get out of the way, which of course, made it difficult to maneuver around the waiting area.

Had a group of 17 people on game day. This restaurant was super accommodating. We got there before it opened and there was plenty of room for our party. The service was excellent and kept our large party refilled. The food was wonderful per usual at a reasonable price point. Can't wait to go back next time in town!

This was the cutest spot ever. I visited on a Sunday after 1 pm and there was as 15-20 minute wait. While I waited, I visited the bar to have an orange-pineapple mimosa which was delicious. The wait wasn't long at all so they exceeded my expectation. The environment was not loud or crowded. It was just right! Cindy was the waitress and she was such a pleasure. She provided information on what "Bacon and Bourbon" meant, recommendations on popular meals and suggested nearby sports bars to watch a little NFL since I was in the mood for that. However, there are televisions there at the bar. I order med the Farmer's Omelette without potatoes with a side of cheese grits and bacon which was made in-house. The omelette was HUGE!!! I had tons of leftovers. I look forward to visiting this establishment again in the near future as it was a quick trip from Columbus, GA. Check it out for yourselves...you won't be disappointed.

3.5-4 stars so I rounded up. Cool place with good food. We came after a football game and got lucky with a 20 minute wait. By the time we were leaving around 8pm there was an hour and twenty minute wait. They don't take reservations during game season so plan to get there early or wait. Service was fine- our waitress was a little flustered (maybe she was new?) and didn't help with recommendations much. My husband and I started with the hummus appetizer. Very interesting take on hummus! It had peppers, green onions and goat cheese. Not my favorite hummus but it was good. The pita that came with it was seasoned deliciously! For my main I had shrimp and grits. The portion was insane. I've never had so many shrimp (9 shrimp!!!) and grits in this dish before! Everything was cooked perfectly. The grits and savory sauce were super rich and flavorful. They definitely don't skimp on portions. I tried the Peach 75 which was fresh and tasty.

I came out to The Hound on a whim while I was out in Alabama for work and decided to give it a try since it seemed like one of the more popular local spots and I was not disappointed at all. The restaurant is located in what I assume was the heart of Auburn and isn't too difficult to locate since it's right by the main parking structure. Front of House staff was very attentive and was quick to seat us. Our server was also very passionate as she ran us through the entire menu and gave us various suggestions but honestly it didn't help because she recommended every single item on the menu that I was torn between. In the end, we decided to take it easy on the ordering since we wanted to try some other local spots afterwards. **Bulgolgi Tots - I did not expect to find decent Bulgolgi tots out here in Alabama so I was shocked by how much I enjoyed these. It was a struggle trying to NOT eat all of it. **Half Drunk Chicken - The chicken was well seasoned and had nice textures but we felt like the accompanying sides were a little lack luster but still enjoyed the dish overall. **Pork Chop - The garlic chili crunch and pepper-jelly really complement the Pork Chop well and made every bite so enjoyable. That pork chop is super thick and not dry at all so this is a must for meat lovers. Even though this was suppose to be a Berkshire pork chop, I just wish it was a little fattier. However, all the porky goodness drips down and gets absorbed in the bacon fried rice! If you're in the area, The Hound is a spot you have to put on your list!

Their breakfast is delicious! Go early because this is a popular brunch/ lunch / dinner spot! Their specialty is different flavors of bacon and bourbon that changes daily. Definitely making a special trip back to enjoy drinks and trying their dinner menu! Aliyah was a great server!! Knowledable on food, drinks and the restaurant information. Ask for her table ! Thank you Aliyah!!

So I'm very particular about a mushroom and Swiss burger. I have my favorite place back home in White Bear Lake, MN and any other mushroom and Swiss burger usually lets me down. So, with some trepidation, I ordered the mushroom and Swiss bison burger at The Hound. I was not disappointed. I ordered "some pink" and they got the cook on it perfect. It was delicious as were the fries. I ordered a local pils and it was a great pairing. Sat at the bar and service was attentive. Ambiance was on point. Upscale southern bar is how I would describe it. Place is a bit hard to find. Set back off the street address so be sure not to miss it. Will most definitely be back.

This was a great meal. It's been about 10 years since I've been, so I was glad to see that this place is still alive and well. I ordered the Berkshire porkchop. It was a massive cut of porkchop served over bacon fried rice. The porkchop had an Asian style marinade with sesame seeds on it. The marinade and cut of porkchop was primetime on point. However, it came out pretty much well done. Still a fantastic cut of marinated meat, but the medium finish would have made it more juicy and flavorful. The bacon fried rice with pepper jelly-sweet chile sauce was an excellent combination of savory and sweet. It had a smidge too much soy sauce (saltiness) to me, but otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Great draft beer selection as well.
